Confidence Clinic with Steve Banting
Hour and a half sessions for up to 4 riders in a group
£35 per rider
If you’re lacking in confidence in your riding and your goal for this year is to conquer the fear and ride to achieve more then this clinic is just for you. Steve Banting, of Equest2Ride, has a great reputation working with riders and achieving great results, whether it be anxiety issues when jumping, flatting, hacking or even pre-show nerves.
Based in Surrey, Steve Banting B.H.S.I.I. is a Freelance Instructor of 30 years, who passionately believes that learning to ride should be a thoroughly enjoyable experience Steve has taught riders of various abilities from beginners to advanced. Steve has also coached a number of stars of the screen from Ava Gardner to more contemporary Amy Childs. Steve has great patience, giving him the ability to help riders develop their confidence.

Show jumping Clinic with Sebastien Poirier

One hour sessions with National Show Jumper, Sebastien Poirier. Suitable for riders of all abilities - He can take anyone from novice to another level with his ground-breaking, fun teaching methods, he can inspire the good amateur to fulfill his/her competition ambitions and he can take the seasoned competition rider to new heights.
Sebastien Poirier is a top, French professional Show Jumper who has competed at National level and worked with some of France’s finest equestrian talent and in some of the country’s best stud farms. Sebastien is very experienced producer of young horses having trained in France with young horse specialist and dealer Bruno Rocuet. He has qualified for and ridden at Fontainebleau (the young horse championships in France) with 4, 5 and 6 year olds.

Dressage Clinic with Andrew Gould

Boost your flatwork and dressage skills with a lesson from International Dressage rider, Andrew Gould. Suitable for riders of all abilities with any type of horse, he will give you pointers in how to improve your horses way of going not only to achieve better marks when competing but also to get your horse going in a more correct way.
Andrew Gould is one of Great Britain's leading Dressage riders and he is noted and respected by some of the most prominent figures within the sport as well as being in great demand as a trainer. Andrew's sights are now on World and Olympic level and with the right horse, no one will argue that he is definitely heading in that direction. Andrew’s successes include both National and Regional titles at levels from Novice to Grand Prix and he has competed at both the Summer and Winter National Championships every year since 1996. He has also competed Internationally both as a Young Rider and as a Senior Rider on six different horses. Andrew is also a UKCC Level 3 coach.

Dressage Show Clinic with Lynne Walkling

Start the show season with a Dressage Clinic with Lynne Walkling. Begin the session by warming up and then riding a test exactly how you would on a show day. Then get tips on how to improve on those all important marks and achieve the best results for the upcoming show season.
Lynne Walkling is a local popular instructor and British Dressage listed judge. She regularly competes on her own horses and is keen to promote dressage to new competitors as well those who wish to further their dressage careers!

Showing Clinic with Tony Whipps
Hour and a half sessions

Get the best out of this years showing season with some tips from Tony Whipps. Come dressed for a showing class (you and yuour horse/pony) and Tony will fill you in on the necessary information about turnout, preparation, what type of class is suitable for you and your horse, what to expect in the show ring and what the judge will be looking for. He will also go through preparation, presentation and how to show yourself & your horse off in the ring to catch the judge’s eye and be picked out for the front row line up.
Tony Whipps has shown several of his own horses up to County & National level successfully and is also a superbly accomplished rider, both for schooling and competition and is always a popular instructor. His style is friendly, and encouraging but also achievement focused for everyone.

Dressage Clinic with Pedro Neves
8.30am until 6/7pm each day

Pedro Neves is a Classical Dressage Trainer, who has competes and trains internationally. He is a National Team Member of the Portuguese Working Equitation Team and was part of 'The Lusitano Ride' at Olympia International Horse Show 2012. He regularly rides in displays in Portugal and internationally. He owns and manages a riding and training centre in Santarem, Portugal, where he produces horses for dressage and working equitation. He can provide lessons for all types of horses and all levels of rider and can include training in in-hand work, which can also develop harmony between horse and rider as well as improve and supple the horse.

The Showing Register Training Classes
Classes 35 - 37 & Classes 47A, B & C
In a handful of our shows we will be holding The Showing Register Training Classes. Classes will be run on the following format: Exhibitors enter the ring and go round as a class, line up in any order. In working hunter classes, each horse/pony jumps individually and then all riders return to the ring and go round as a class, as per other showing classes. The trainer/judge will watch and give feed back on individual shows and then cover presentation, in hand technique etc. Within these classes the judge will be talent spotting for the TSR Training Pathway which could lead to riders being selected for the TSR/HOYS Showing Master Class.
The Training Classes are open to everyone but to be eligible for talent spotting you need to be an Amateur (as per TSR definition) and have not competed at HOYS in 2012,2013,2014. You will be notified if you have been selected for the Pathway in the ring. Go to www.theshowingregister.co.uk for full details and the TSR Amateur definition.
