All Intro/Mini Challenge 2010

Sadly we have cancelled the second mini challenge day as it seems that everyone is busy doing other things!

Mini/Intro Challenge days are aimed at novice horses and riders and are designed to give them a chance to practice show jumping, cross country and dressage at a show ground without the pressure of a full on show day!

Encoragement is the key word and assistance and help is allowed in the ring (within reason).  The jumping starts very small and easy for competitors, horses and those who might be leading them!  The jumps go up gradually giving something for everyone.

There is also the chance for some good old fashioned fun with gymkhana games and a handy pony course.  The gymkhana is split into two sections - one for lead rein riders and one for the more secure and independent riders.

On the first of our mini/intro challenge days there will also be training sessions available.  These will be in groups of 4/5 with a qualified trainer. 

Show jumping tuition will cover areas like jumping different styles of fences and combinations and riding the lines between fences for optimum achievement and aiming for those clear rounds.  Riders will be grouped according to experience and the height they want to jump from 2'/60cm to 3'6/1.10m.

Cross - country will be over some fixed and some portable fences again looking to improve style, security and balance around a simple course.  Again riders will be grouped according to experience and the height they want to jump from 2'/60cm to 3'/90cm. 

Dressage - private and shared sessions will be available to improve your flat work and ultimately your dressage scores!

On the second mini/intro challenge day - new for 2010 - there will be a Mini One Day Event in the afternoon.  You will be able to do schooling rounds in the morning and then put it all together in a mini ODE after lunch.
